All electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems have been replaced. We installed insulation (R15) and a vapor barrier under knotty pine panelling in the salon and galley. Galley appliances (four-burner gas range with oven, trash compactor, 36" double sink with disposal and 11.5 cu ft brushed stainless steel refrigerator/freezer) are new. The head located off the forward compartment below contains a rebuilt shower stall, a stainless steel sink and a Vacuuflush toilet. The very spacious forward compartment below offers plenty of room for either two full size bunks or a large V-berth and lots of storage. In the large stateroom below, we have retained two original crew bunks and a small closet. A large hatch with windows on 4 sides was added to provide daylight. There is plenty of space to install a king sized bed, another head/shower and plenty of storage. Wiring and plumbing have been installed to add a washer and dryer as well as a freezer. The engine is the original Caterpillar D-375; it was completely tuned in 2006 and has a rebuilt fuel pump, governor and fresh water pump. This engine runs exceptionally well. Hull and superstructure have been cleaned, sandswept, primed and painted in early 2007. The T-4-2 was audio gauged to US Coast Guard standards in October 1999. She was surveyed in November of 2003 with excellent results. Insurance requirements call for a new, out-of-water audio gauge and survey before re-launching. Engine and transmission, drive train and generator may be set up to be safely operated out-of-water to demonstrate reliable operation. With a fully operational galley and head, the T-4-2 is ready to move aboard and cruise. Additional renovation and finishing touches can be added while she is in commission.
