Length 77'-6" ft
Width 20'-2" ft
Originally purchased in 1996, the Ellicott 670 was the only dredge used by the County for the dredging of sand in the coastal marine environment on Cape Cod since it was placed into service. For last season (2020 – 2021), the Cod Fish I was only used as a Booster Station for 3 projects and saw minimal work over the past 5 years as the County has purchased two new Ellicott dredges hence the reason for its sale.
The engine was removed and rebuilt by Brooders in R.I. 5 years ago. There are 5,989 hours on the rebuild. Total hours on the dredge are unknown.
Some modifications made to facilitate its use as a Booster Station.
The digging ladder was removed. Piston and plumbing for the ladder hoist are still in place and operational. The Cutter Head hydraulics have a loop under the lever room so the dredge can be run. The hydraulic lines and case drain for the cutterhead motor have been removed and disposed of. The pins to install the ladder were cut out and new ones need to be manufactured to put the ladder on. The holes for the pins were not cut and are in good shape.
All hydraulics minus the cutterhead circuit were operating properly when the dredge was being used as a booster. The dredge hydraulic system is filled with biodegradable oil.
Other Items/Notes:
The dredge is on its third suction tube in the ladder. The last one was replaced 6 years ago. Over the last 2 years, the ladder has not been on the dredge because it was used as a Booster Station.
The Cog Belt that drives the pump has been removed and disposed of.
The Pump, Impeller, Front Door and the Rear door were replaced 7 years ago.
The Suction Pipe underneath the Lever Room was replaced 3 years ago and has minimal hours.
The Hydraulic Expansion tank was replaced less than 6 years ago.
The Spud Ram Brackets were rebuilt 3 years ago.
The Lever Room was replaced approximately 5 years ago with a wider one built by Ellicott.
The Starboard Swing Winch was replaced with a new one 3 years ago (Pull Master winches).
The Engine and Pump room were replaced 5 years ago.
The Ladder Piston and the one spud lift piston was replaced less than 8 years ago.
The engine was removed and rebuilt by Brooders in R.I. 5 years ago. There are 5,989 hours on the rebuild. Total hours on the dredge are unknown.
All of the Hatch Covers were replaced with galvanized covers.
The Cast Elbow that comes from the pump was replaced 4 years ago.
The 14” steel piping from the Elbow to the Flapper was replaced 3 years ago.
The hull of the dredge has been protected by tires its entire life and they are fastened to the dredge deck with welded rings and hangers.
All of the railings are intact.
